Paint, Painting, Paintings

Last night I made some work that was challenging and not so satisfying during the process but seemed brighter in the morning. Acrylics and water based paints in general change when they dry, the colors seem to settle or meld and the result is usually more pleasing. Unlike Oil paint which from my experience is what it is wet and dry. Of course oil paint can appear glossy when wet and dry mat which can be good or not so and if it is very wet the color can combine…. My knowledge of the mediums makeup is limited but it has served me for the most part.

I am going to try to get out of my way today and not be so in my head. Yesterday was not a great day all self imposed. It did end on a better note as I communicated my issues. There is always a reason but who cares why let something control and basically ruin the day. There will always be circumstances it’s how we deal with them that matters. Today I will stand up straight and remain Posture Positive. That is my new mantra. I read, and I am living proof that posture degrades with age. Just think of an elderly man or woman standing with their head and shoulders slumped forward. Nothing is perfect but if I remember while sitting at the computer or walking, to sit or stand up straight and keep my head back and be aware of my spine and core, that is half the battle and a great start. So there we go..no slumping.

And the added good news it that it will keep me fit for a longer life of making paintings, long walks with the one I love, swimming in the bay, walking up and down my studio stairs, gardening, driving to visit my family and countless other activities that I take for granted and hope to do forever. I will leave you with Acai bowl, It’s part of my future, more on that later.
