Rose Paintings, New and from the Archive.

From time to time my mind races and thinking clearly can be a challenge. Focusing on one thing, the task at hand is one way to slow down the onslaught of thoughts. Deep breaths help focus, repeating mantras, all these tools help to realign. I had the wherewithal to change the tape this morning allowing me to focus and write this. Who knows about the future, right now I’m in control.

Recently I made a series of small, abstract Rose themed paintings (shown below) from head to the paper. I then impulsively posted not listening to the voices telling me they are shit, embarrassing and not to post. I tuned them out trusting that they had some merit and who really cares. Anyway, a lovely repeat customer inquired about the first one and purchased for her daughter whom she refers to as Rosebud. This tells me yet again to trust my vision and let others judge. So until the next time, I survived. One take away is that my ability to edit is crucial and sometimes I fall short and other times edit to much. I must be diligent in my review of the work During and after my process, and still have some fun.
