Bio 

Residing in East Hampton, NY. Born and raised in Providence RI.  mainly self-taught with some painting and drawing classes. His junior and senior year in high school were spent as a student with "The Center for Career Education in the Arts" a government program lasting a few years in the late seventies. During that period Perry had Life Drawing with the Painter Myrna Lamb (presently an Author, Psychic and Radio Show host). He also studied Illustration with Chris Van Allsburg, a Caldecott Medal award winning children's book author and Sculptor,  both Lamb and Van Allsburg are RISD alumni. 

In his twenties he studied Portraiture with Anthony Janello at RISD, Evening Division while working for ten years as an Electrical Draftsperson for CE Maguire, an Architectural Engineering firm in Providence.

In 1987, Perry entered the Providence Art Club's "Open Painting Show" and won the Milton Halladay Prize for "A Portrait of a Woman". During the eighties he worked privately with a small group of local artists headed by RISD Freshman Foundation teacher Robin Wiseman, which met weekly, attending through most of his twenties.

In 1989, Perry moved to NYC and continued drawing from the model at The Society of Illustrator's and the Spring St. Studio. Spending time out on the East End of Long Island where he made landscape paintings. He continued with the figure and landscape work through the nineties while working for six years as a painter in various studios in the Garment District. 

In 1996 leaving the Garment District and devoting himself to painting  and freelancing.
